The author examines the origins and development of the human species from its birth on the African continent. He reviews and examines all the evidence currently available from researches in palaeontology, anthropology, prehistory, biology and history, and shows, conclusively, that there is very little or no difference in brain size in relation to cultural progress or human development. The book reveals the startling comparison between hunter-gatherers and modern man in posing the former's lack of aggression, functioning outside the popular notion of the division of labour between the sexes, and an integrated relationship with the environment which lends itself to harmonious coexistence. The author thus explodes the myth of brain size as a feature of human achievement, and homo sapiens as an advancer of culture or human development. The author thus portends that modern human's future is militating towards self-destruction, waste and ecological catastrophe.
