A TIME−PORTAL EXISTS ON DARTMOOR! (and the Prince of Wales will not be amused) HAVE A CARE AS YOU PASS THROUGH! Phileas Cluff, a barrister; with his fiancee, Jackie Forbes, a CEO for an advertising agency are hiking on Dartmoor. Stopping for the night, they unwittingly camp on the rim of a time-portal. Woken from sleep they are confronted by a man wearing clothes from the time of George the First. Thinking he was a drunken reveller from a fancy-dress party, Jackie confronts him. When he walks right through her as if she isn't there; and only after collapsing from the horror of it, does the situation take a serious turn. They are forced to listen to this man. He tells them that he was hanged in 1716 for a crime he was not guilty, pleading with Cluff to accompany him back to his own time to defend him. They treat him with increduility. Cluff, trying to humour him, tells him that to defend a man without forensic evidence common to his profession would be folly in 1716. Laughingly adds that he would be forced to rely on his wit. Only when he discovers the lives of three-hundred children, about to be blown to smithereens at a school in Bristol does he listen closely. The man he was supposed to have murdered, was holding those children and the duchy of Cornwall responsible. Still not convinced and humouring him further, he agrees to go with him - in the morning. That 2008 morning was not to come for the barrister. With the past already shadowing him, he is no longer with Jackie. She is left alone. Wet, hungry and exhausted, she gets herself off the moor the following morning, only to confront 1716 from a different direction. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear Cluff is more involved than he could ever have imagined. His life: his return to 2008, can now only be assisted by the resourcefulness of Jackie through the two time verses. WILL A RESCUE OF THOSE CHILDREN COME TOO LATE?
