Having to play scales and arpeggios from memory can be a scary experience, especially when you are being marked on them in an exam, so you need to make sure that you really know them well. The top notes need to be as secure and easy as the low notes and the finger patterns need to be completely known.So that's where this little book can help. It has lots of ideas for different ways in which you can approach your practice so that, by the time you have finished the book, you will be able to play your scales and arpeggios fluently and easily.The book is split into chapters, one for each scale and one for each arpeggio. The exercises in each chapter are all slightly different, so that you don't get bored. Even if you are already good at your scales you will improve in agility and confidence by practising the exercises.The book covers all of the requirements for both the ABRSM and Trinity College Grade 1 flute exams.
