Author Description

What is lighter than a feather, one-millionth of a metre thick and can burst apart at a speed of 50 km/h? SOAP BUBBLES! Kids know they're fun -- and now soap can be a way to learn about science! Easy-to-follow experiments show how soap can help chart air currents, measure lung capacity, create an electric current, copy newspaper cartoons and much more. Kids will learn the origins of such soapy terms as "soapbox derby" and "soap operas." And, just for the fun of it, Soap Science includes instructions for different bubble makers. They'll have fun learning about the science of soap -- and might even wash more often.
