Author Description

The story rotates around Sub Commander Ben Sky, along with his sibling Abi and his friends the Star Men. The year is 2995 CE. Some of Earth's more adventurous citizens have trained at a cadet centre, over the course of five decades, readying for deep space travel. They have waited for the chance to fulfil a quest. Centuries ago, a large star ship left the Earth solar system to venture further into the galaxy in search of the sentient alien contact that had always eluded humankind. They have never returned; their plight is a mystery. Three new star ships have been commissioned by the Earth's ruling body, to take hundreds of eager volunteers on a quest to find the missing explorers. The new ships are able to travel almost as fast as the speed of light and it will take fifty years for the star ships to reach the last point from which the lost ship had sent its final message. The three crews of the star ships will remain in stasis for the first phase of the journey, watched over by artificial hominids. When they awake they encounter strange new worlds and creatures, including the Sauranoids of Gaia.
