This time the male signed, “Earth and Tau Centi e at war. War getting worse. Four Races organize truce between races. Condition of truce is to take group from Earth and group from Tau Centi e on journey. Everyone learn about each other.” I immediately saw what they were getting at. It was so typical of the Four Races to come up with this “Everyone should get along,” crap. I doubted it could ever work. “So, say we learn about each other,” I signed. “How is this going to ease tensions between the Tau Centians and us? What am I supposed to do with my acquired understanding of the enemy?” “You are involved in Earth military, no? And you are from famous Earth lineage.” “Yes. So what?” The female picked up the discussion. “You in good position to teach your kind about Tau Centians. On journey you will reach understanding. Then you bring this back to your kind. Everyone get along better.” “We are at war! We don’t want to understand each other. I don’t think you understand our races very well. We are aggressive. We fight. Look at the universe. It is strife with competing entities. That is just the way it is.” “Do you remember your grandmother and her journey?” the female signed. “Of course.” “She learned much on journey. It changed her.
