Jessie is a troubled young woman from Michigan who is having nightmares. When she starts having them, she has no idea what they mean, nor does she have any idea what the dire future consequences of them are. She quickly discovers that her dreams are in fact a message from a woman named Learis. With that revelation she soon discovers an alternate realm of reality, and the mysterious Wells and their purpose. Her life however is already in ruins since she's dealing with the fallout of her mother passing away, and the emotional pain and turmoil that causes her. Her father and family are convinced she is depressed and needs to seek help. Jessie however is an introvert on a good day, and on the bad days she's a full blown socially phobic shut-in who can barely talk when spoken to. So, seeking help and dealing with these issues proves difficult. In the end things are not what they seem to be, and she quickly finds herself embroiled in an ancient blood feud that began eons ago. Her life as well as the lives of her family are put into peril. And along the way she meets a new ally who she quickly becomes interested in... Brandon is a down and out man from Tennessee.
