In 2014, I set a goal for myself to climb the tallest peaks on each continent and reach both the north and south poles in the shortest length of time. It is commonly refereed as the Grand Slam among the mountaineering community, while I called it the Nine-Pole Earth Project. I wanted to see the highest summits of all seven continents, For I had come to believe that the variety and beauty of the world, of different cultures and climates, of life itself, can be seen more fully and completely in the mountains. The beginning of that year was the beginning of an incredible adventure.
