My Extraordinary Ordinary Life follows my journey from a childhood spent in Scotland to my adventures as a trailing expat oil wife. From the hot desert sands of Abu Dhabi and Bahrain, to the snowy fjords of Norway and beyond. I navigate through the contrasts between the excessive American dream of New Orleans and life in the Vietnamese Mekong delta. The humbling sights, sounds and smells of India nearly broke me, but I was rejuvenated by the lush green jungle of Malaysia. After 23 years of a slow global tour my expat life concluded in the Land Down Under. Redundancy from the oil Industry changed everything and then the opportunity of 'what next". This is my story of self discovery, of experiencing exotic cultures and countries, of dealing with heartbreak and reunion. This is my story of resolve and commitment and the exciting possibilities of what the future offers as I continue my extraordinary ordinary life.
