The integration of sustainability requires a paradigm shift in the lifecycle of buildings. By using the BIM method, aspects of sustainable construction can be increasingly integrated into processes and workflows. Information is captured consistently and in a structured way across the lifecycle and made available to all stakeholders. This Essential presents the current status quo of possible applications of the BIM method in sustainable construction.
