This book will act as a guide to property owners or managers large and small who wants to use technology to do less, get more, boost profits, and keep tenants happy. The book will classify the different types of proptech by the phase of property management to which they apply (e.g., leasing, screening, smart building, tenant experience, security, health and safety) and describe the general benefits of each category as well as the return on investment potential. The book will also classify proptech by its applicability to different segments of the property market (commercial, residential, industrial, share workspace, retail, etc.), and will coach readers through choosing a vendor with a sample selection matrix. In the closing chapters, the book will pull together the various ROI threads outlined for each class of proptech and build the case for how they all come together to support the industry’s Holy Grail: increased Net Operating Income. These benefits will be further clarified for small vs large property concerns, commercial vs residential, and several other market segments (e.g., retail).
