Slavic myths did not survive as such in their original and even revised form. Scholars deal with fragments and sources to restore or reconstruct Slavic myths. This book shows the methodology of reconstructing mythology and the Slavic pantheon, based on Slavic folklore and its comparison with the same motifs and plots in other folklores. The author investigates the Russian tales Sestritsa Alenushka i Bratets Ivanushka, Krasnaia Shapochka, and others and shows their connections with Slavic mythology.
