Author Description

Mythology is a significant piece of any spiritual practice. It is through mythology that we learn how a culture perceived and interacted with the universe. Myths were shared through time, from ancient villages to modern society. Jean Pagano has taken this opportunity to continue sharing those stories with the children of today. He is dedicated to the continued pursuit of education and has an eagerness to share his knowledge with others. This book is the result of that excitement. In this book, Jean tells us the story of Vakariné, the evening star, and her duties as a caretaker. She shows us that even in the darkest part of the night, there is warmth and brightness to be found in the universe. The story ties mythology into one of the most easily recognized natural cycles we experience and gives children one explanation for what happens to the sun at night. The myth is uplifting and comforting, like any great bedtime story. Review by Amber Doty
