Author Description

Our son, Jonathan, was diagnosed in 2013 with Legg-Calve Perthes disease. He went from an athletic child prodigy to a little boy bound by A-frames and/or a wheelchair while his disease progressed. The good news about this disease is it has a good prognosis. The process to get to the end is very disturbing and heart wrenching for the child and the family. Towards the end of Jonathan's journey, he asked me to write a book about his experience. I nodded my head and agreed that would make a good book. Little did I know that was exactly what I was to do, write his story. One night while I was sleeping I was awakened by the Holy Spirit and told to get a pen and paper and He would download Jonathan's book. I wrote for about 3 hours and his book was born!! Inspired still by the Holy Spirit, I asked Jonathan to illustrate each page. This book is Jonathan's and our family's journey of faith through Legg-Calve Perthes disease. When we are told it takes a village to raise a child there is much truth in that. We are so grateful for all the people who walked with us and agreed to the assignment they were to play in this journey. We have been blessed beyond words with wonderful caretakers, teachers, family, and friends. May you be blessed and encouraged by his story!
