Excerpt from A History of the Church of God: Eastern North Carolina The State of Eastern North Carolina has had a significant involvement in the Pentecostal movement and Church of God organization since its inception in the Twentieth Century movement. Therefore, it becomes important that data be researched and preserved as it relates to the Church of God. The state Council of Eastern North Carolina commissioned the State Centennial Committee which consists of the Reverend W. P. Pope, Jr., Millard Maynard, and L. L. Reeder. These men are to be commended for the excellent research material and data which they have completed.
