
Beauty to me is simple, uncomplicated, approachable, accessible, easily deconstructed, and replicable. That's why I've put concerted time and effort into curating food that tantalizes both the eyes and palate. At its core, this book is about teaching you to how to thoughtfully plan and execute simple ideas in a sophisticated way.Cookbooks have traditionally focused primarily on recipes and largely ignore teaching techniques on achieving certain aesthetics in plating and serving. This book aims to expand the repertoire of the home cook to include the visual appeal of food. In the book, each delicious recipe is accompanied by an image, and tips on achieving the look portrayed. Tips include advice on ingredient selection and preservation, the loveliest methods for cutting fruit and veggies, creating pretty tablespaces, documenting, and sharing your accomplishments with friends and family. My self-taught strategies are a result of years of observing how food is plated and presented on my travels across the world including my homeland of St. Lucia, visiting, and noting how some of my favorite restaurants present food, my own trial, and error, scouring social media platforms for inspiration, and what I've learned from the numerous magazines and books I've read. This book will remove the mystery of creating and serving beautiful food.
