Author Description

I am just an old country boy who loves my God with all my heart. I was born to Vann and Chellie Mercer, a God-loving coupleaI thank my God for that righteous coupleaon a farm in 1922 in Cerro Gordo, North Carolina. With twenty years in the Navy during World War II, I know that the prayers at home had a lot to do with my survival. Now, I live in Whiteville and record the thoughts that I feel coming to me through the Holy Spirit of God. This is the third book of poems I have written, and I pray that some lost soul will read the thoughts and turn to God for salvation.
