The prince of this world wants to seduce me and destroy my desire, directed towards God. May none of you who are there help him. Better be mine, that is, God. Do not be those who call on Jesus Christ, but love the world. Envy does not dwell in you. And even if I personally began to ask you for something else, do not listen to me: believe more in what I am writing to you now. Alive I write to you, eager to die. My love has been crucified, and there is no fire in me that loves substance, but the living water that speaks in me calls to me from within: "Go to the Father." For me there is no sweetness in the food of perishable food, nor in the pleasures of this life. I wish the bread of God, the bread of heaven, the bread of life, which is the flesh of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who was born recently of the seed of David and Abraham. And I desire the drink of God -- His blood, which is imperishable love and eternal life.
