Two plucky Jewish religious twin boys in Tiberias both survive the earthquake of 1837 and as refugees in Jerusalem must escape the designs of an apostate missionary; the foreign antiquities dealer they helped wishes to send his son to learn in Jerusalem but is opposed by a Reformer.
