About the Author Growing up on a mini-farm in a small southern town is the perfect life. Our cousins from the farm thought we were city folks and our cousins from Birmingham thought we were country bumpkins. My bicycle took me fishing, swimming, to the grocery store, and to explore over the hill and around the next curve. The territory to explore expanded when I got a car and a wife to share it with. The kids often worried because we didn’t always know precisely where we were. The kids are no longer kids and are out exploring hills and curves on their own or with friends. Retirement has given us time to explore Alaska by rail and cruise ship. We checked out the Panama Canal and the Caribbean via a cruise ship. We toured by bus New England in the fall and circled Florida in the spring. Product Description The house Dad built with his own hands is where I began. It’s where my roots are. Growing up there on the three acre farm with two sisters and a brother molded my whole live. Cows, chickens, pigs, cats, and dogs played an important role in my life.
