Pulit tells a story of two generations of two families, the Parkers and the Bambridges, that begins with a young man’s trip west after the death of his grandfather and parents, and his adventures along the way. He meets his wife and starts a new life in Missouri. It’s a story about love, friendship, greed, and hatred. It tells the story of Dan and Ruth Parker and their son, Dan Parker, IV, and how the Parkers and the Bambridges meet. Their children, Dan and Becky, grow up and fall in love. There are troubles they face before they can finally be together. This story is about betrayal and how it is overcome and how good finally triumphs over evil.
