Suzi Stone has inherited a bookstore, The Cloak and Dagger, from her best friend Elle Carr who has vanished under questionable circumstances. Suzi soon discovers the Cloak and Dagger, which sells mystery books, is alive with a personality of its own. The store houses a mascot named Lucy, an African Grey parrot, which Elle cherishes as much as she does the store. Lucy, it seems, also has a mind of her own. Loyal Suzi makes it her mission to upkeep the store until Elle returns, or die trying...
