This is my fourth Collection of Short Stories. This collection is different because all these stories have some sort of Jewish theme. They are Psychological Dramas, but with a significant Jewish element. The first story is a very Israeli scene, a heroic act of an army group that becomes distorted by individual people’s personal harmful emotions. The second story describes some people who seem able to live within the restraints a religious life requires, but others cannot. Can the ties be released, yet still preserve the fundamental traditions? Next, a story about people who are similar in so many ways and come together, yet they are separated by differences in their religious backgrounds. Can those ever be bridged? And even within the Jewish community, differences can lead to tense conflict. From earliest times until today Jewish history has been one of displacement and movement for so many. A story about countries at war leading to lovers becoming separated. The contemporary Israeli scene leads to a story of extremely tense and often bitter conflict. But another story shows how sometimes love in the most unexpected places can overcome what might have appeared to be very challenging differences. Huge, unusual, world-class talent, can open up many doors, sometimes unexpected ones. The last story is about the difficulty the large ultra-religious community has with those who don’t quite fit in. Some leave and have the strength to overcome leaving, but not all do.
