‘The Mystery of Babel, or, Nimrod’ was the first writing by the renowned occultist, Éliphas Lévi. Although written in around 1831, it only saw publication in the massive 1851 ‘Dictionnaire de Littérature Chrétienne’ and has never been published in English. This was the writer’s only drama and while it remains his earliest work it prefigures much of Lévi’s socio-political views and the theories he would later and enlarge on his classic volumes on magic.
