This reference book presents more than 800 coats of arms of the Nobility living in Sweden as they have been published in the two Swedish member rolls since 2001, i.e. including not only listed nobility. For ease of reading, the coats of arms are presented in alphabetical order and not, as is customary, according to rank. All illustrations are based on available records. Coats of Arms are defined by their blazon (verbal description) and not by a particular image as for logotypes. The artist is thus free to interpret a blazon. The relationship between blazon and image is similar to that between notes and music. Excluding the reprints in 1994 published by the House of Nobility, seven armorials have been published in Sweden over the last 350 years, i.e. one work every 50 years - the last published 43 years ago. To date, the only armorial in colour was published about 150 years ago. This armorial is thus a vital handbook to those dealing with heraldry.
