Irish Historic Towns Atlas, No. 16 -the next in this series - records the topographical development of Dundalk. Historical maps and old views are presented in color on 15 large-format sheets. Additional thematic maps and illustrations highlight particular aspects of the town's history. Included is an essay on Dundalk and over 1,300 entries containing historical references to features of the town's topography. Together the maps and text trace Dundalk's growth from its origins as a medieval borough to its expansion in the 19th century as an industrial center.
