Halloween originated as a pagan festival marking the end of summer. It was believed that evil spirits, witches and other dark forces roamed the earth for a night. Today, it is a time for all the family to celebrate and for children to dress up in hideous masks and costumes, to venture forth in search of candy and excitement in a riotous medley of pumpkins, trick-or-treating and other mischief.
