Today Psychoneuroimmunology has established its identity as an area of exact study in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, as well as psycho-oncology the study of malignant neoplasm. Psychoneuroimmunology is becoming very common in medical research.Psychoneuroimmunology usually describes the relationship between psychological phenomena and immunological responses through neurological reactions. As a result, Psychoneuroimmunology cannot refer to the pathogeneses and/or pathology.Psychoneuroimmunopathology as a word simply means the combination of Psychology, Neurology, Immunology and Pathology. But Psychoneuroimmunopathology has an exact definition as a deep-rooted holistic medicine.Psychology in Psychoneuroimmunology seems to be based on behavioral psychiatry. But the suffix Psycho in Psychoneuroimmunopathology is given a definition of a Psyche based on Psychopathology including a pathogenesis, which descends from existentialism. One result is that Psycho is mutually joined to Psychopathology, Psychoneuropathology, and Psychoimmunopathology. Psychoneuroimmunopathology means the point of view of the human being. That is to say, Psychoneuroimmunopathology is categorized as a holistic practice of medicine. Furthermore, the foundations of Psychoneuroimmunopathology exist in German psychopathology and/or psychopathological pathogenesis.
