The holiday season is a splendid time to be in the Dutch capital, but every paradise has its snake. In the early hours of the third Sunday of Advent, the first victim dies with a bullet to the head. As the police try to get their own heads around the hideous crime, another killing occurs with the same modus operandi.A vindictive sniper on a killing spree is the last thing Inspector Rinus Rompa from the Amsterdam Criminal Investigation Department needs during his personal struggle to end the year sober and to cope with expectations from colleagues, a partner with a high sex drive, a sulking ex-wife and his disappointed teenage kids.
