This is a brilliant, sometimes hilarious, tongue-in-cheek guide to a successful bureaucratic career in the swamp. In fact, the book is a devastating critique of the modern administrative state and documents how far we have come from the individualistic ideals of the Founding Fathers. Written as a satire it hits home on what the progressives and the bureaucracy have done to this country. Our representatives in Washington need to step up and start limiting what the bureaucrats can do before it's too late. Save the Swamp is a wonderful satire that provides excellent discourse on the true cost of big government: Fewer choices, more expensive goods, and services, less privacy, and bigger corporations. But with both political parties craving power, it's hard to imagine the Swamp will ever be drained. Maybe someday when social security runs out of money yet retired bureaucrats continue to collect rich pensions will people demand real reform.
