Explore the rich history of public library services to children with the help of this annotated bibliography that describes 428 works published between 1876-2003. The history, planning, policy, research and standards are all covered as well as children's librarianship (education, role, and biography). Forms of literature (both electronic and print) include annual reports, bibliographies, biographies, journal articles, books, brochures, dissertations and policy documents, among others. This volume uniquely features policy statements, reports, and research studies not readily identified in any one source. This bibliography updates the coverage of print materials listed in Library Service to Children: A Guide to the Research, Planning and Policy Literature (American Library Association, 1992). The electronic sources are new, and the coverage of biographical literature and materials about the history of children's services and children's librarianship has been expanded.
