Reprinted from Pennsylvania Archives. Householders and landholders including landowners and tenants (no distinction made between the two) were listed in the published Third Series of Pennsylvania Archives. Inmates were residents of a household—not a renter—who worked for the landowner. Freemen were single men over the age of 21. This tax list in 1767 included the present-day counties of Berks, Schuylkill, Northumberland (most), Montour, Columbia (part), Lycoming (part), and Clinton (part). (81pp. index.
