First run in 1955, the Southern 100 Road Races attracted 73 entries for 3 races. Taking its name from the premier 500cc event, which was held over 100 miles, the Southern motorcycle road race soon gained national status. The Southern 100 has for fifty years brought pleasure to competitors, officials and enthusiasts alike. Covers 1955-2005.
