Swindon, as one of the longest-running clubs in British speedway, has a proud history, which has been maintained throughout the many changes that the sport has undergone. From the first meeting at the Blunsdon raceway in 1949, through the League Championship successes of the 1950s and '60s to Leigh Adams and Charlie Gjedde becoming Elite League Best Pairs winners in 2004, this comprehensive history, complete with photographs and detailed statistics, follows the fortunes of the club over the course of their 56 successive seasons in speedway up to the end of 2004.
