
About the Author Charles A. Strange was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and is a product of the public school system there. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Bucknell, and an MBA from Columbia. In World War II he served as an officer in Naval Intelligence and later was employed by US Army Intelligence G-2 as a civilian. He returned to Pottsville in 1960 having sold his plastics extrusion form to what is now Exxon-Mobil. He resides in Milford, Connecticut. Product Description An historical novel set in the mountainous mining country of northeastern Pennsylvania in the decade 1927-1937. The central story is of the near-successful attempt to restructure the then-largest mining company in the world into a profitable entity. All is seen through the eyes of Georgie Wells whose family is accepted, on a managerial basis, but not part of the hereditary majesties of the region.
