This study argues that sharing knowledge across the boundaries of academia, government, and business is essential for tracking innovation, while also claiming that there is no single model that is best for nurturing innovation. Using data on regional development in India and Europe, village renewal in Asia, and the role of education and information technology in each, the report concludes that breakthroughs come out of all kinds of innovation cultures and can be shared across cultural boundaries as well, making diversity the best incubator for new ideas.
