Author Description

This is an unsolved true story about my husband. His name was James Edward Hicks. His friends and family called him "Hicks." Hicks, was a young man who was full of life, but had a very short one because he was cut down in his prime. We were together for four short years, and were married for two of those years. From this union, God blessed us with one child; our only child. Hicks adored her, but would only be in her life for 2 1⁄2 years. When I look back, remembering Hicks face as he lay in his casket; I still wonder what his last thoughts were before his life was taken from him. From his swollen eyes and half open hands, I could tell that he didn't go without a fight. I also think about how hurtful it must have been to have someone who you loved and trusted reveal themselves to you at the end end of your life.
