"One Planet One Future is the name of Anne de Carbuccia's ongoing collection of photographs documenting her on-site installations: the Time Shrines. The TimeShrines are created and staged by Anne in symbolically significant environments, and her photographs become the permanent record of the temporary installation. TimeShrines make use of 'Vanitas' art, a tradition that dates back to the sixteenth century, which featured the skull as a symbol of vanity to represent the futility of earthly life and the transient nature of worldly pursuits. Next to the vanity in the TimeShrine is the hourglass, to remind us that time is fleeting and that the sand in the hourglass is running out. To complete the TimeShrine Anne de Carbuccia incorporates organic elements and found objects, each carefully chosen for its symbolic meaning."--Publisher's website
