A New BeginningIn late December 2022 and early January 2023, Seacliff pier was wrecked by a series of devastating storms that hammered the Central Coast of California. This is the second book in the Seacliff Chronicles series. The photos span the 35 years that I have lived in Seacliff.Packed with over two hundred original photographs taken from the mid-nineties to the present, this edition of the Seacliff Chronicles is an ongoing effort to document the dynamic nature of this beautiful Central California beach, its surrounding seas and gaze at a new cast of ballet dancers gracing the sky overhead. If there is one good thing that resulted for me personally was that it caused me to put my sci-fi book writing on hold and begin assembling photo books like this which brought me into contact with my neighbors that have been more than willing to share their stories about funny, strange, curious, etc. adventures that they experienced on the pier or the beach here at Seacliff. You are also welcome to send me your stories and I will post them on the Seacliff Chronicles website.Photographing the last piling being pulled out of the sand, it seemed to me that we should take climate change more seriously, that we live on a tiny spec of dust in the vastness of the universe and we should be grateful and pull our heads (not pier pilings) out of the sand and do something useful to preserve our fragile home.
