Author Description

Fourteen-year-old Travis Larsen plans a solo camping trip in December near Mystery Lake along the Gunflint Trail. His overnight stay in the wilderness takes an unexpected turn when he crosses paths with a pair of poachers. Anxious about what Travis might have seen, one poacher leads him blind-folded deeper into the wilderness and leaves him to starve or freeze. Travis not only struggles to keep himself alive, but also takes into his care a wounded yearling wolf that escaped the poachers.
