The Appointed Earth maintains that the biblical story of creation contained in the first three chapters of Genesis is not passé. Modern history and science challenge literal meanings of the story, but viable meanings prevail in reflections of writers considered in this book for conceiving and imagining the world of nature as "appointed" under a divine entity.
