Detailing the adventures of a rambling naturalist, sixty years of hunting, fishing, hiking, and exploring the wonders of nature provide the core of this book. Comprised of nineteen writings gathered together into one volume, each journal describes a singular moment in the life of the author's lifelong passion for all things outdoors. Prefaced with an introductory background explaining the history of that particular journal, each of these writings has been carefully transcribed word for word from the original field notes. With the addition of present-day comments clarifying certain points, the only deviations from the original are minor corrections to grammar and spelling,
