Author Description

These essays are based on my woods-walks in the magnificent natural environs around Olympia, Washington during February and March of 2019. They follow the same pattern of, and share the same spirit with, my previous of books of seasonal personal essays. They appeared first as the personal "half" of my book A MInd of Winter. The other half of that book, the critical essays on the imagination, is also available separately now in The Imagination: A Tour of Western Poetics in a Series of Brief Sketches.
