When you're an ordinary kid growing up in the 1950's and 60's, you don't expect to live an extraordinary life. But Terry's life changed drastically when he joined the U. S. Army. He learned that you didn't need to be a college graduate to become an Aircraft Commander in Vietnam. At the ripe old age of 19 he became a skilled and highly decorated helicopter pilot. Shortly after returning home from the conflict he married the love of his life and together they raised a family.
