I was just 19 years old when I joined the crew of the Lee A. Tregurtha in the summer of 1994. In the many years that have passed since I served aboard as a deckhand and porter, the ship and crew have changed considerably, but the memories of my time underway remain clear. This story recounts what it felt like to call this old steamship ahome.a
