Abstract: This 17-volume mini-series, denotes both a literary and ersatz driving tour relegated to all the celebrated scenic icons of the Southwest. Each 9 x 6 formatted book averages 130 pages and is based on popular tourist hubs such as Flagstaff, Phoenix, and Albuquerque. In the semblance of a Grand Circle Tour, the featured destinations connect regional scenic icons within an average of 200 miles (one way), ending at the tourist hub where the tour began. The knowledge in these compact books graduates from the essential to more entailed information (i.e., geology, natural and human history, and other relevant subject matter). Thus, the reader peruses only what suit's one's interest. Given the entire series, there are some ninety destinations to choose from, and the books can be purchased individually or collectively, thereby appealing to one's interest (i.e., favored scenic destinations featured in each book and tourist hub). There are no other literary travelogues on the market similar to ROAD TOURS.As a retired educator and instructor for the likes of the Grand Canyon Field Institute, most of what I did for a living for some forty years entailed teaching various geosciences, natural and human history, environmental sciences, zoology, mathematics, and assorted published writings. I also once owned a successful eco and cultural tourism company in the Southwest and doing what this min-series offers--booking and guiding road tours. For more background, go to the Amazon site and click on the synopsis or go to my website, www.richholtzin.com
