Land was only leased, not sold but by the use of leases, tax lists, store ledgers and other resources the lives of the inhabitants are shown. About the Author Frank J. Doherty is considered an expert on Hudson River,NY 18th century life. He is on council of the New England Historic Genealogical Soc. and a life member of the New York Genealogical and Biographical Soc.
