Author Description

In this study, the author brings together a multitude of New Year traditions from around the world. She examines which types of clothing and which colours ensure luck and well-being for the year ahead. She also describes many types of traditional food that can be served at the New Year celebration and their history and significance at this point in the calendar. Small private ceremonies are also described, that take place around the world in and effort to secure luck, health prosperity and love for the coming year.
