PLAYING BY THE RULES After. being released from prison, Jamal Myers aka 'Mal,' was given the opportunity to beat the odds, but that may not be easy for an ex-felon. What awaits him in the free-world is much different from the repetitive lifestyle he's come to know behind bars. Will Mal's readjustment to society be more than he can handle? Vowing to live a crime-free life, Mal finds himself in the company of an old acquaintance, Shyheed Brown aka 'Shy' who is the epitome of lawlessness. Influenced by Shy, Mal takes part in life-threatening situations, one after the other, and seems headed back to prison or to an early grave. Realizing that he's going down a dark path, Mal decides to back out of the dangerous lifestyle, which causes a major conflict between the two friends. Shy is determined to put an end to Mal, even if it means not Playing By The Rules.
