Author Description

Hello there, my name is Jacques Zeevaart and I am currently a senior industrial design student at Columbus College of Art & Design. As the world continues to evolve and change, new opportunities arise for designers to provide innovative solutions to complex challenges. With this said, I chose to pursue industrial design as a career because I truly believe that the quality of life can greatly be improved through well-designed products and services. Outside of design, I enjoy exploring in nature while admiring the plants and animals of the environment. From mysterious species of fungi to the breathtaking beauty of a mountainous overlook, the natural world has always fascinated me. As I pondered the subject of my senior project this year, I considered my interest in nature and found the field of ecology immensely intriguing. I’m excited to embark on this journey and design something to assist ecologists with monitoring wildlife in their natural habitats. My hope is that this design will aid conservationists in gathering appropriate research on sustaining fragile ecosystems, and therefore contribute to minimizing human-wildlife conflict.
